Now attorneys can take advantage of document automation in NextChapter with Doc Creator. This feature makes it fast and easy to create new templates, edit existing templates and documents, and use autofill features to spend less time on data entry and form management.

 

Let’s take a look at the Doc Creator process within the NextChapter application.

 

 

How it Works

Step 1: Upload and create your law firm templates

 

If you have existing templates, just upload your Microsoft Word file and use the in-app editor features to further customize the document. You can also start from scratch and create a brand-new template.

 

 

 

Step 2: Format and prepare the document to autofill

In your template, you can drag and drop tags that will autofill with specific case info, like Case Number or Attorney Fees Paid. This will automate document creation and save you time. If you don't find what you're looking for in the Tags Glossary, create new tags in your account settings. Using the editor, you can also further customize your documents with a wide array of formatting tools. Text, headers & footers, and so much let you make the template exactly how you want it.

 

 

 

Step 3: Import client information

By using NextChapter's client portal MyChapter, you can take automation a step further. Using the online questionnaire, your clients will fill in their information. After reviewing, import their data into their case in NextChapter.

 

 

Step 4: Create a document

Once you have client information ready to go for a specific case, document creation is simple! When you’re ready to create a new document, all you have to do go to the case is click on the template you’ve already customized. NextChapter then generates the new file with all the information from the applicable case via the autofill function. You can modify the form however you’d like before it’s ready for download.
