The 2020 Women of Legal Tech Summit will be held at the Chicago-Kent College of Law on February 26, 2020, taking place before the ABA TECHSHOW 2020 in Chicago. The Women of Legal Tech Summit is a one-day symposium that will focus on closing the legal tech gender gap.
There will be a one-hour CLE session and an interactive workshop, in addition to sessions with current and former honorees. The event also recognizes the ABA Legal Technology Resource Center’s 2020 additions to the Women of Legal Tech.
NextChapter Founder and Managing Director, Janine Sickmeyer will be speaking at the summit. Janine is a former Legal Technology Resource Center (LTRC) honoree as one if its 2017 Women of Legal Tech.
Janine has made big impacts in the world of legal tech, and her story continues to inspire many women in and out of the industry. She started as a paralegal, and thought that there had to be a better way for law firms to streamline the case management process. She taught herself to code and built the NextChapter team and product into what it’s become today, a successful legal tech app backed by a team of 25.
The summit will also feature a talk from Judy Perry Martinez, president of the ABA, and a workshop with Caitlin Moon, Erin Gerstenzang, Michelle Browning Coughlin, and Kim Bennett. Coughlin, who is the founder and president of MothersEsquire, will be giving the keynote address. Other presenters include law professors, attorneys, and legal tech company founders.
The ABA TECHSHOW following the women’s summit brings together even more lawyers, legal professionals, and tech industry professionals to discuss the newest innovations and provide a range of learning and networking opportunities.
