NextChapter Summer Release: What's New ☀️

Summer's winding down, but we've been busy. Here's everything new in NextChapter, from stronger data security to faster case management and a few backend upgrades you'll feel even if you never see them.

🔒 Data Privacy & Security

SSNs now stored securely, no re-typing Social security numbers can be stored securely in NextChapter and pulled straight into the Statement of Social Security (Form 121). No more re-entering the same number twice.

ITINs get the same treatment ITINs are now stored securely and filed directly through the app, just like SSNs.

See your passwords when you need to You can now reveal your Authentication Key and ECF password to double-check them. We also updated the Authentication Key field's design so it's harder to accidentally change while you're looking.

📁 Case Management

Export full case data Pull complete case data out of NextChapter anytime, for your records, a review, or a handoff.

Duplicate and archive from inside the case Both actions now live directly in the case itself. You don't have to leave what you're working on.

Case templates Build a template once for the case types you file often, and every new case of that type starts halfway done.

Import & export pay advices Move pay advice data in and out of a case without re-keying a single number.

Manual override for income entries Need a human touch on a number? You can now override imported income with a manual entry.

Edit SOFA (Form 107) during review Spot something while reviewing? Fix it right there, no detour back into the form.

Edit the Means Test during review Same convenience, now for Forms 122A-1/2 and 122C-1/2.

Attach files to amended forms Add attachments to amended forms, then download or print the whole packet together.

💳 Billing & Messaging

A billing dashboard you can actually see View your billing history in one place, no more waiting on an email or a phone call.

NextMessage updates Remove or regenerate your messaging number for a clean start, and enjoy a higher character limit on automated recipes and the Case Dashboard.

⚙️ Backend & Integrations

Xactus logins are live Credit report errors now route automatically to Xactus by email, no more manual forwarding.

CAEB now generates LESH files in .txt format A small backend change that keeps your file formats where they need to be.

📝 Chapter 13 & Form Updates

  • Alabama Middle: Chapter 13 forms updated to match the district's current requirements.
  • New Jersey: Step payments are now supported in Chapter 13 plans.
  • Georgia Northern: The Payment Advices Cover Sheet can now be generated for both the debtor and joint debtor.
