NextChapter has a lot of features that many of our users might not know about. Our customer success team got together to discuss some of NextChapter's hidden features that our users just need to know more about! These tools will take your firm's productivity to a whole other level!
Firm Created Forms
Our team of developers are working to add-in local forms upon request. In the mean time, you can upload your district's firm created forms in your account settings to be filed with you cases. This eliminates the need to download your petition, add in your local forms, then file manually with the court's site. Once uploaded into NextChapter, your forms will be available in the Additional Documents section of every case - what a relief. Cut out the middle-steps and upload your local forms to save you time in the future!
Application to Pay Filing Fees in Installments
Many of your BK clients can't afford to pay their filing fees all at once. Completing this form for your clients can seem like an extra step in the preparation process, but it's made so much simpler with NextChapter. All you need to do is indicate in the filing profile section of the case that the client will be paying in installments, fill out the proposed payment plan and the application is auto-generated by NextChapter, ready to file with the court!
Time Tracking & Attorney Fees
NextChapter isn't just a software for preparing and filing your bankruptcy cases with the court! We also have tools for you to manage your practice! Two of our favorite management tools include time tracking and attorney fees. Whenever you are in a Chapter 7 or 13 case, NextChapter will automatically record your time so you don't have to. We also provide a tab for you to add your attorney fees and client payments. It gets even better - you can download a receipt to give to your client. Keeping track of your time & client billing information is conveniently all in one place which will help your firm be more accurate and transparent.
Assigning Events in Client Document Storage
Whenever you upload a file into a case's Client Document Storage, make sure to select the event code that applies (if it is available). Doing this while you're already in the Client Document Storage will save you some time when you are ready to file the case. Because you assigned an event code to the document already, you won't have to worry about it when you're reviewing and filing the case!
