The NextChapter team was honored to attend NACBA’s 31st Annual Convention this past weekend! NACBA is the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and this year it was in the incredible city of Washington, DC! Formed in 1992, NACBA has over 4,000 members in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

There were some notable keynote speakers this year, including the Honorable Vanita Gupta, the US Associate General, Henry Sommer, the President of the National Consumer Bankruptcy Rights Center, and Jolene Tanner, an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Tax Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles.

    Our Booth

The NextChapter team was set up at Booth #4, where we gave attendees demos of NextChapter Bankruptcy, NextChapter Docs, and our Paralegal as a Service offering. We spoke with many excited attorneys looking to switch their bankruptcy software to NextChapter. It’s safe to say that the booth was a resounding success!

Our NextChapter Cherry Blossom cookies were a massive hit with everyone who tried them! We also brought a US History trivia game wheel because we were in a city with so much history and culture. What was the grand prize, you ask? A free case to file with NextChapter, of course!

Our Sponsor Session was jam-packed with value, where we covered topics like migrating/filing bankruptcy through the cloud, workflow/document automation, CRM tools, and our MyChapter and Nextmessage features.

    Fun Times Were Had!

At NextChapter, we like to make the best of our company trips - and this year was certainly no exception. While we may not have gotten to party with celebrities directly, we did do a lot of people-watching. Seeing stars like Jerry O'Connell, Rebecca Romijn, Justin Hartley, Billy Eichner, Natalie Nunn, and Julia Fox in person was incredibly exciting!

We might be a legal software team, but we can get a bit mischievous from time to time. Since it happened in the same hotel, we couldn’t resist sneaking into the White House Correspondents' room.

    Some Sightseeing Highlights

It wouldn’t have been a proper trip without visiting some notable places in D.C. We were able to visit the Holocaust Museum, a sobering trip that helped us reflect on one of the most horrific events in world history. We also had time to check out the Washington Monument, which was incredibly awe-inspiring!

With all this running around, the team eventually got hungry, and we heard that Washington DC’s culinary scene has never been better. First, we went to a Peruvian restaurant that blew our minds! Later, we headed to Martha Dear for their unique sourdough pizzas, which exceeded expectations. We couldn’t resist splitting some amazing dessert there, too!

    Until Next Year!

As always, NextChapter Legal was proud to be a Gold sponsor at the 31st annual NACBA Conference. It was great to catch up with some familiar faces, spread the word about NextChapter!

Overall, the NACBA 31st Annual Convention was a great success for NextChapter. We had a fantastic time meeting new people, showcasing our software, and enjoying all that Washington DC had to offer. We're already looking forward to next year's event in Colorado Springs!
